Getting caught with bad nails = getting caught sneaking into the fridge, possibly in the nude, definitely with cupcake in hand face.

We’ve all been there. But, best when avoided.

Butter London has a new dual purpose polish that I had to try: Nail Foundation Flawless Basecoat.

One coat takes care of the little lines and ridges that occasionally peek through flat polish. And ensures polish will stay put longer. I tried it with the aquatic Thames Nail Lacquer as part of my mermaid alter ego, great look.

Unexpected use two - the basecoat alone works as a polish. It’s a light nude, and it has a gorgeous matte finish. In my opinion this is THE solution to the I-have-20-minutes-and-gross-nails bind (a situation that happens all to often).

QUICK TIP: Next time after painting your nails, run your hands under cold water. It helps the polish set, removes bubbles, and makes things extra shiny.

Does This: Smooths ridges, adheres polish, and looks great alone
