where there's a will

It’s funny to me that we use skincare, fragrance, and essential oils at different times and for different reasons - to make us look good, to make us smell good, and to feel good - but don’t think to simply make a skincare product that has scent/aromatherapy benefits? We all know how good a yummy or refreshing or soothing scented serum or moisturizer can be in terms of mood - but don’t necessarily think about whether a beneficial natural oil is providing that scent or a synthetic fragrance

Way of Will was founded on this notion. Founder Will Tsang’s father fell ill and, while in the hospital for eight long months, only showed signs of happiness when he smelled food or familiar scents around him. After this experience, combined with Will’s passion for working out and a close friendship with a certified aromatherapist, the benefits of natural essential oils became more and more obvious as a way to connect the mind and body for optimal health and performance. Canadian created, Way of Will is line of functional products based on the power of essential oils. Not only does it smell amazing, work powerfully, and contain 100% pure essential oils - it’s also truly genderless and goes beyond just skincare into athletic-focused items and overall wellness.

The Brightening Serum is a great entry point to the brand. With brightening Vitamin C and antioxidants, it’s easily absorbed and extremely lightweight. The bright orange color (from carrot oil, rosehip oil and sea buckthorn) is a mood lifter in and of itself, and the scent (grapefruit and geranium) is an aromatherapeutic happiness generator. It’s a perfect morning ritual - and reviewers have said it fades dark spots and acne scars faster than less natural products that actually make those claims, which is pretty awesome.

There are definitely some essential oils that are skin irritants (like lavender! if you can believe it) - and that’s one of the reasons they’ve gotten a bit of a bad rap in skincare. It’s definitely about educated cosmetic chemistry combined with aromatherapy - Will’s lead formulator Jean Liao has got you covered, but you can always do your own research based on the ingredients list before you delve in!
