We share a lot of founder stories here, but Cassandra Thurswell, founder of Kitsch, exemplifies the kind of grit we love. She began her journey aspiring to have a jewelry business, moving from Minnesota to LA, but after some trial and mostly error, she pressed pause and went to FIDM. At 25 she founded Kitsch, quitting all of her various jobs, maxing out 2 credit cards, and focusing on positive vibes and super cute accessories like her signature luxe scrunchies (which she was cutting and sewing herself at that time). What started as door-to-door sales quickly grew and Kitsch now sells products in over 27 countries across 20,000 retail locations worldwide - and goes well beyond hair accessories like her cult hair drying scrunchies.
It was actually her silk sleep set that had me at goodnight … it was my peaceful sleep ritual during the early stages of quarantine and I was super grateful for this luxury.
I remember getting the travel kit as well around that time and being so psyched to use it “in a few weeks” when travel got back to normal … remember that feeling? I feel lucky that I got to use it at all this summer for quick travels to a nearby weekend retreat.
The Ultimate Travel 11 Pc Set by Kitsch made dreams I didn’t even know I had come true. The refillable pouches are adorable but also actually hold a lot of product while still being under the TSA limit, and there are also pump, sprayer and jar items for all your favorite serums, mists and such. The helpful little tools mean you can actually fill the things up! And then there is the chic ziplock… And all of this is TWELVE DOLLARS!
Though we can’t cosign you going anywhere too far in this uncertain time, we can certainly back you getting geared up for the next adventure with this cute kit.
