Wanted to share that in a real dream come true Wanted to share that in a real dream come true type moment, this beloved project from my work life is launching in stores and online at Anthropologie. Fictions came from two simple desires - to explore different kinds of love (because too often we only hear about/dream about the ‘perfect’ kind), and to work with a couple of folks that I was kind of obsessed with - Josh Meyers from Imaginary Authors, the amazing illustrator and letterist Jon Contino, the incredible watercolorist Marcel George, and my long-timeish collaborator Casey Shagena of Menagerie, as well as the Paris and NY based perfumers Alexandra Monet and Gino Percontino. Truth be told I stalked most of these people on the internet and the fact that they not only got back to us, but ended up making these amazing things, is crazy and so special! L.A. She Called But He Was Unreachable captures that painful but sort of awesome feeling of unrequited love, where you want to stop but you can’t stop loving and hoping. You know what I mean right? It’s set in L.A., which always inspires that sort of happy/sad longing in me anyway. Josh’s fragrance is the most amazing citrusy musky happy/sad sunrise you’ll ever smell. If you’re “not a perfume person” - this is the perfume for you.Paris She Met Him in Secret is about unauthorized love and it’s … well, sketchy and sexy and bad, maybe with some consequences, but we’ll never know. The scent is heady, sensual, like a lipstick kiss. It took some push and inspiration to “go there” with this scent - definitely was lucky to have an amazing team that was fearless in exploring the boundaries.London She Knew He Was For-Ever is about unconditional love - not so much the one from movies, more the one from late nights when you feel ugly and you’re crying and can’t take the world anymore but your person somehow makes you laugh. It’s breezy and romantic and you can wear it always. There were so many people involved in this project for whom I just do not have enough words of thanks … We did it, you guys! There are so many other stories to explore and I hope we get the chance to continue bringing to fragrant life what it means to be a lover, partner, in love, etc… because it means so many different things to different people and at different times in your life. I hope you all love these fragrances as much as we do. Let me know what you think! You can sign up for the newsletter at Fictions Beauty and read more about all the folks there, too.
