“Soon I will be leaving for a 16-hour day of flying to Paris. Any beauty tips for travel?”- Nostalgiedelaboue
YES! As I write this I’m preparing (mostly mentally) to get up at 4am for a commuter flight, which I do quite often, and I’m proud to say that FINALLY I have this thing down pat. Because let’s be honest, flying blows.
This is my must-have list:
The biggest issues with flying are a) it’s incredibly drying to your skin b) you’re trapped in a seat with little to no resources and c) the water in the loo is like … a trickle from who knows where. Thus …
1. Comodynes Make-up Remover Wipes for Sensitive & Dry Skin (~$7.00): Even if you have oily skin, get this version. You’ll need the hydration. But moreover, you just NEED cleansing wipes … for your hands, if your neighbor spills something on you, etc. Of course, incredibly refreshing for your face.
2. Ms. Manicure Nail Files (~$3.00 for the matchbook kind): Maybe this sounds crazy, but if I have any kind of nail issue on the plane I go crazy. I can’t stop thinking about it. So now I always carry a nail file. I have this version in the case which I can’t find online, but the matchbook ones are great too.
3. Kiehl’s Lip Balm #1 - in the jar ($13.00): I mean seriously, just shoot me if I run out of lip balm on an airplane. I like the jar formula slightly better than the tube and it’s good as a moisturizing balm for nails/hands if you need it.
4. Colgate Wisp Toothbrushes ($7.99): Welcome aboard my one way flight to OCD Town. I cannot deal with having any kind of bad breath/bad taste situation on a plane. Bring a toothbrush that has toothpaste included; that’s what these are.
As for makeup … are there paparazzi meeting you on the other side? That’s what I thought.
Happy travels!
