So you guys know I’m pretty into scent. I wouldn’t say I’m really into “perfume” because for so many people that has a connotation of heavy stuff and intense experiences walking behind people wearing too much of it … I get that. That’s not what I’m into either.

For me, scent has to be close to skin, a layer, like a secret accessory. I switch things up all the time and I always want to smell like “me” (whoever that is on the day), not like some other chic on the subway, so I usually choose niche and artisan fragrances that I find at places like Scent Bar in LA, where I discovered Sarah Horowitz.

For a long time I’ve been wearing Sarah’s Perfect fragrances, and generally idolized her career as a bespoke perfumer in California. She just has a different point of view - very laid back, very personal, very barely-there. So it was kind of crazy when she came into my work life and shared her vision for Biography Scents of Self with us - which is this very simple, very foolproof collection of fragrances that you can blend on skin to make your own. It’s bespoke perfume, but by you, and way easy.

Biography is a collection that comes with her classic Perfect Veil (1 oz), which is like the best naked skin ever, and three .5 oz rollerballs that you can layer however you like, or wear alone. They’re a top, middle and dry note (if you know perfume well), or to translate - Scents of Awakening is bright and fruity with a touch of ginger, Scents of Harmony is a floral with Hawaiian Gardenia and Stargazer Lily, and Scents of Passion is a sensual warm amber, sandalwood and patchouli. There’s also a little pouch to store the rollerballs, and a card with different inspirations as to how to blend them on your skin - but it’s foolproof. You can’t make a mess if you mix them all up differently every time- they compliment each other.

I don’t know if you guys are QVC watchers, but I’m literally here at QVC now with Sarah and she’s going on tonight (Friday) at 8pm P/10pm C/11pm E to launch this. I know I’ve been writing a lot about work stuff lately, but it’s been a really busy and exciting time. Lot of dream projects that many people worked hard to bring to life - it’s impossible not to get excited about sharing them. XX
