If I could indulge in a beauty treatment once or maybe three times a week, it would be blowouts. Hands down.

The DreamDry/Dry Bar concept is not cultish, in fact it’s pretty mainstream. Regardless. The way these stylist can make hair look flawless for days in a mere 40 minutes for $40 - blows. my. mind.

I went to the Rachel Zoe curated DreamDry on West 21st Street for an NYE do. I was greeted by a woman name Tudy with coffee and an iPad to scroll through their full selection of styles. I chose the super sleek, retro glam Veronica (inspired by the beautiful Veronica Lake, above). A little doubtful that my hair would come out as perfect as Veronica’s, I was thrilled when Tudy was finished working her magic - my hair and Veronica’s were close to identical.

Here was Tudy’s method:

(1) After blow drying she took small sections of hair and sprayed with Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray. (2) She curled each with a curling iron and then pinned the perfect circular sections of hair back to my head. (3) Once my entire head was pinned and cooled, she took a few sections out at a time, brushed them together, and twisted them into one big curl with her finger.  (4) Brushed, tamed and sprayed with Oribe to keep every strand in locked down and curled position.

Veronica. May our locks match again soon.

PS. Happy New Year!
