Does Drinking Collagen Do Anything?

As you reach your mid-twenties collagen production begins to decrease and continues to decline for the rest of our lives.  In case you didn't know, collagen helps give skin its strength and elasticity (among many other roles in your body) so, in theory, getting that lost collagen back would make your skin look smoother, softer and tighter.

*I was extremely skeptical of this as how could something you eat and digest ... with your stomach breaking down everything as it does ... really help your skin?*  But I went deep into the interwebs and found this proper scientific study published in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology, which claims that yes indeed, "oral supplementation with collagen peptides is efficacious to improve hallmarks of skin aging." OK! #Giddyup.

The rest of this assumes you aren't vegan ... because the collagen comes from animals (derived from marine animals is considered the most easily absorbed).

We tried Hello Beautiful-Collagen & Multivitamin Powder, which tastes good and doubles as a multi-vitamin ...

Also available in Hello Beautiful-Collagen & Multivitamin Powder (Wild Berry Flavor) shown above, this stuff contains Jasmine Green Tea extract for energy, a host of vitamins for immune protection, Biotin (which is also great for hair and nails), and if you put it in water ... then it contains water, which ..... makes you drink more water! Which alone is a struggle for me, for real.

For us, really seems like a no-brainer and a fairly inexpensive (and overall healthy) way to try the collagen trend ... consider switching things up next time you run out of vitamins.
