in our skin

By now you’ve probably seen, heard, maybe tried Flesh Beauty. Founded by iconic former editor-in-cief of Allure, Linda Wells, the brand is focused on the belief that beauty is more than pigment & powder, it’s a tool to bring your vision of yourself to life. To this end, Flesh offers a wide range of shades of foundation and provides blush, lipstick, highlighter and more that are extremely closely coordinated across the range to create flawless natural looks or more intense impact. My first impressions of the brand were that it was a lot of BRAND … know what I mean? Big time font use (I love that but … there’s gotta be more).

When we received the products we were surprised by a few things. On the neutral side of our emotions was the packaging, which makes it pretty hard to tell the shades apart in some cases. On the VERY positive side of our emotions were the formulas. The pressed powders ($28) are magically as light as air - and we loved the shades Rise & Promise. The Rise Highlighter gives you a bit of a summer glow while the Promise provides a soft, pinkish tint to highlight & soften your look. The brand is sort of known for their easy sticks - and we loved the Touch Flesh Highlighting Balm ($18)…. a great essential range are the Startle, Pinky & Squeeze shades. Lastly but certainly not least is this groovy and weird but amazing Fleshpot Eye & Cheek Gloss ($20). This peach gloss speckled with gold and pink pigments can be used over makeup or worn alone and gives that dewy face and eye look that I always worship in editorials. A little goes a long way so we liked the price considering how special and insta-worthy this little guy was.
