So, obviously my goal in life is to look 22, makeup-free, and like all I do is sit around in my underwear and laugh … all through the use of makeup. Right?
I have to say I’ve been inching closer to nirvana this week because I finally found a BB cream I WORSHIP. If you don’t know what a BB cream is, all shall be revealed (and concealed)…
BB is short for blemish balm or beauty balm. These creams were developed as post-laser treatment balms/concealers to soothe and heal skin while minimizing redness, and blew up in the Korean market before spreading throughout Asia and now the world. They’re essentially multi-tasking tinted moisturizers, with a more balm-like (but ideally, not heavy/oily) texture and usually an SPF factor for skin protection.
Dr. Jart+’s Premium Beauty Balmis a flawlessly concealing, moisturizing, anti-aging and sun-protecting (SPF 45 PA+++) balm that you just swipe on with your fingers or a foundation brush and GO. It feels so quenching for winter, but it’s not greasy or “makeup-y." Something about it instantly creates coverage and evenness but your natural skintone still shines through. I think, for me, it’s also the perfect color … as with all "one color fits all” products, you can be lucky or unlucky in terms of how great a match it is for you.
I am a die-hard fan of drugstore tinted moisturizer, but I have to say … I think this is my new BBcakes. The price seems right for a product of this quality. My only warning is the pump is very finicky - be sure to face it downwards and very close to your hand before you pump or else the product might fly towards your clothing.
